Yesterday Arsi University College of health sciences in collaboration with Jhpiego undertook Program level education quality review workshop.
Program level quality review meeting is intended to share Arsi University College Health Sciences' internal quality audit (IQA) / self-assessment result with key stakeholders, discuss on enhancement plan and roles of stakeholders in implementation of proposed action plans.

The workshop was opened by Dr. Dida Batu (Chief Executive Director of the college) addressing the advantage of performing internal quality audit as it lays a base for accreditation of the program by education and training authority. Undertaking internal quality audit is one of the basic steps for accreditation of the program through identifying gap and planning intervention and executing the planned activities in order to fill the identified gaps. Once we make sure that the gaps are filled, the next step will be to request for external quality audit that will be performed by Education and Training Authority.

Current global and national educational quality perspectives is presented by Mr. Mefin Goji (representative from Jhpiego) and trends of quality assurance as well as licensure pass rates of graduates of College is presented by Mr. Shimelis Mekit (V/d for ASQAR of the college). Then quality assurance focal person from all seven undergraduate programs (Anesthesia, Medical Laboratory Science, Midwifery, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Public Health) presented educational and training authority’s nine focus areas self-assessment result summary.

After exhaustively discussing on the presentation, takeaway massage was forwarded to the departments, the college and the university.
