A workshop kicks off

Vice-president Office for Research and Community-Services held its first evaluative conference in Arsi University main campus. The main objective was to evaluate accomplishments and resultant outcomes in the realms of research, community-services and university-industry linkages. The conference was also said to be pathfinder for the upcoming fiscal year (2021/22 or 2014 of Ethiopia). In the conference which involved key stakeholders.

Dr. Adem Kedir, vice-president for research and community-services stated at the occasion that, the university had had enormous achievements in the research and community-services in the last six years since the inception of the university.  Accordingly, the university initiated the undertaking of 250 research works among which 77 works were published in reputable journals. Moreover, 11o community-service projects were implemented. Dr. Adem also highlighted, by far, that the university had organized more than twelve research conferences in collaboration with other universities.

The succeeding events of the workshop saw presentations and related reflections on the accomplishments of the two main directorates underlying the respective vice-president office: Research and Publication Directorate and Community-service directorate. By and large, colleges working with each directorate presented their status in the accomplishments of research and community-services based on which constructive suggestions and eye-opening remarks were given by stakeholders.
